Summary
Primera continuously considers various ways we can contribute to nature and incorporates these into our product designs. A portion of the profits from the Oil-free Gel Cream Limited Edition is donated to support the preservation of aquatic habitats through the Biodiversity Foundation.
Concept
To promote the campaign, we developed illustrations of three endangered aquatic plants and applied them to the product containers. The Skin Relief UV Protector features a neutral-colored tube covered with text listing the natural ingredients it contains. The design is simple and straightforward, clearly presenting the product information.
“The Proportion of Sprouting is an Improper Fraction”
The core concept of the Primera container is sprouting. To convey this concept, we researched the proportion of the sprouting moment to the total lifetime of a plant. When comparing this with the infancy periods of animals and humans, we found a common proportion among plants, animals, and humans: a ‘large head.’ The works of Botero were especially inspiring. Among his witty artworks that distort the proportions of human and animal bodies, the large-headed Mona Lisa is a key motif. To embody the sprouting proportion as a so-called improper fraction, we designed a cap as large as the container and emphasized it further by placing the product description text on the cap.
