With the official name change from APMall to Amoremall, we carried out a package renewal.
There were two main reasons for the need for new packaging materials. First, the APmall logo was prominently displayed on the front of the existing packaging. Second, the existing packaging required manual cutting and wrapping to fit the products. A new package featuring the updated logo and easy assembly was needed.
We designed the packaging so that even someone without much skill could easily complete the wrapping. It was also intended to feel appropriate as a gift for everyday occasions without being overly elaborate. The shopping bag features a concrete pattern symbolizing the global headquarters, with “AMORE” subtly embossed in relief. A non-woven fabric pouch is included, allowing the product to be placed inside and then easily tucked into the shopping bag for a polished, finished look. Finally, we added a paper charm where you can write a short message. The heart shape of the charm represents Amore and love. We commissioned a calligraphy artist to write the phrase “with love” on it. We hope these small details come together to make this packaging a special icon of Amore Mall.
After development was completed and the shopping bag was in use, we decided to create a limited-edition holiday package. We chose to retain the current shopping bag and paper charm design, while adding a holiday mood.
We created three styles of paper charms. Based on a holiday theme,
we introduced variations in shape and color to create a set of two charms.
Since these are products intended for sale, we actively participated
in shooting detailed pages and production shots to clearly convey the design intent.
We also produced a video introducing the packaging, showcasing the entire
process—from selecting items and writing messages to placing them in shopping bags.
The initial task I was assigned was to propose a shopping bag design. This evolved into a broader concept of creating a “gift-worthy package,” which involved developing the design and production shots for the detailed product pages. The project turned out to be more extensive and time-consuming than anticipated.
What made this project unique was that it involved designing a product for sale, which was different from my previous work.
Reading the product reviews provided valuable insights into the direction we could take moving forward, which was a unique experience.
Being able to accompany the product from its inception to its growth made this project particularly memorable.
