In the age of COVID, we’ve come to expect complete protection from all kinds of harmful substances. IOPE recognized that this expectation could extend to skincare as well. The new UV Shield is therefore designed to offer stronger protection than ever—blocking not only UVA and UVB rays but also blue light, fine dust, and infrared (IR) heat. We aimed to create a design that clearly communicates these functions.
Concept
We prominently displayed the product’s harmful-substance-blocking capabilities on the front of the container using diagrams. The design highlights functionality through simple yet effective graphics. Specifically, to represent the different wavelengths of UVA, UVB, and blue light, we used arrows of varying lengths and illustrated them bouncing off the skin’s surface with bent lines at key points.
We developed social media content inspired by the schematic diagram of IOPE UV Shield’s unique 5-layer defense system.
To make it eye-catching and intuitive, we used motion graphics to deliver the message in a clever and engaging way.
We planned visual content that connects summer daily life with the product by using props that evoke outdoor activities,
creating a stronger sense of relevance.
Additionally, since masks—now a part of everyday life—do not provide UV protection,
we created content that emphasizes the importance of applying sunscreen even when wearing a mask, thereby encouraging the use of UV Shield.
