Behind-the-Scenes Story from the Merable Photo Shoot
Our ‘Merable’ shoots always take place at Amore Seongsu. The day starts early, preparing the outfits,
props, and mood boards and then briefing the models, photographer, and hairstylist on the concept.
What makes ‘Merable’ so special is that our models are not professionals, but the actual staff who
work at Amore Seongsu. For this #MSBB shoot, to showcase a diverse range of skin tones, a male staff
member participated as a model. In fact, Kang Jung-chang, one of our incredible pro makeup artists,
took on the dual role of both makeup artist and model for the shoot.
1. A chic, all-black outfit to match the mood.
2. Explaining the concept to the models with the mood board before the shoot.
3. Reviewing shots immediately as they are taken on a connected laptop.

2. Repeatedly adjusting the hairstyle after makeup is complete.
3. Final makeup touch-ups after the full look is assembled.
The ‘Merable’ managers from the Restore Business Team direct the shoot on-site, referencing the mood board.
Thousands of shots are taken as we consider everything:
the best poses to highlight the makeup, natural-looking mood shots, and compositions
that can be adapted for various platforms (web pages, lookbooks, posters, banners, and Instagram).

The Final Touch of the ‘Merable’ Project is the On-Site Setup!
After the planning, photoshoot, design, and production phases are complete, we move on to the final step that puts a period on the project: the on-site setup.
On Mondays, when Amore Seongsu is closed to the public, we come in like secret helpers to decorate the artist tables. Each time, we plan out the materials
and sizes to be used according to the new concept. For this launch, to capture the chic mood that perfectly matches the #MSBB concept, we used black velvet
as a base and created new display fixtures using only black and white.
The tables are finished with the ‘A-cut’ images of the models for each look, which are printed and displayed as large canvas frames.
Are there any particular aspects you focus on when setting up the display?
It’s important that each of the three makeup looks is clearly distinct, yet
also creates a single, cohesive aesthetic when viewed together. We strive
to create a table that is both beautiful as an exhibition-style display and also highly
engaging, allowing customers to experience the looks directly with a ‘to-go kit’.
Hanging signage from the ceiling demarcates the ‘Merable’ zone, and a
lookbook is placed at the head of the table as an introduction. Posters
are also attached to the wall behind the artist’s table, ensuring
customers will encounter the ‘Merable’ campaign from any approach.

In front of each featured look, we place the makeup products used
alongside a POP display explaining the order of application.
To the side, ‘to-go kits’ are prepared for visitors to take with
them, allowing them to try out the ‘Merable’ makeup looks for themselves.
And now, we introduce the three makeup looks of #MSBB.
Shade 1. HERE: A warm yet intense look using shade Warm 15.
Shade 2. NOW: An irresistible look using shade Neutral 21.5.
Shade 3. MYSELF: A look just for you, using shade Cool 30.
This look is defined by a flawless skin texture and a natural,
luminous glow that subtly brightens the complexion.
A custom-matched, warm, fair base is layered with soft orange and pink color makeup,
expressing the essence of modern Asian beauty with a finish that is both calm and intense.
Step 1.
To create a healthy glow, apply Sulwhasoo’s First Care Activating Serum immediately
after cleansing to activate the skin’s natural potential. Follow with a skincare
routine tailored to your skin type to build a solid foundation for makeup.
Step 2.
