Summary
In collaboration with the Amorepacific Empathy Foundation, we created AI-generated visuals and videos for the Empathy Post Office exhibition.
Conceptualized as a special post office open only during the holiday season where empathy can be exchanged, the project included the development of key visuals such as posters,
teaser videos, and background visuals for the photo zone.
Background
The exhibition was designed around the concept of a special post office that opens only during the year-end season, offering a space for people to exchange empathy.
We aimed to evoke the mood of a vintage post office within the space. However, as the project had a limited budget, we explored ways to achieve this atmosphere with minimal costs.
To complement the spatial design, we decided to enhance the setting through visuals and video content.
Since outsourcing both space design and video production would have incurred additional expenses, we chose to create these elements using AI.
Work 1. Teaser Video
At the entrance of our exhibition space, storyA Busan, there is a mirror cube, as shown in the lower photo (outlined with white dotted lines).
Inside the cube, a looping video plays, allowing visitors to experience the exhibition’s concept and mood through the teaser before entering the space.

I wanted to create images with a vintage mood, so I searched for reference images with a similar atmosphere and reviewed example prompts.
Using those as a guide, I generated images with keywords such as “person in uniform,” “vintage photo,” “camera style,” and “snowing post office.”
To produce an image of a postman walking while carrying a bundle of letters, I searched Pinterest for a reference with the desired composition, copied the link, and restructured the prompt by adding a snowy background.
I also asked ChatGPT to help write the prompt. For specific areas I wanted to adjust, I selected those regions in Photoshop and used the Generative Fill feature to make refinements.
The resulting images were then turned into a video with an analog film aesthetic reminiscent of classic movies.
Work 2. Photo Zone Background Video
Inside the exhibition hall, there is a small mirrored room, which we decided to use as the photo zone for this exhibition.
We designed the space to feature flying envelopes and Christmas gift packages, creating an atmosphere enhanced by an AI-generated background video that adds continuously changing, dynamic elements.
A large monitor was installed inside the mirrored room, displaying the video to complete the immersive experience.
(Programs used: Midjourney / ChatGPT / Runway)
We created background videos for the photo zone using images of winter landscapes with falling snow, Christmas-themed scenery, cozy living rooms with fireplaces, and both the interior and exterior of a post office.
The base images were first generated in Midjourney, and motion effects—such as snowfall, flickering flames, twinkling lights, and moving cars—were added using Runway.
We then refined the motion speed and other details to complete the final videos.

Work 3. Poster
I created a poster image representing the exhibition using Midjourney, ChatGPT, and Photoshop.
The poster features an image of a postman walking through the snow in front of a post office, carrying a bundle of letters and packages, along with an image of an envelope sealed with wax.
These visuals were used as promotional content on social media prior to the exhibition and later as posters and stand signs placed inside and outside the exhibition space to promote the event.

Review
The exhibition preparation had to be carried out on a tight schedule, and since it was a small-scale exhibition running for only two months, there wasn’t enough time to produce high-quality visuals.
Nevertheless, this project was personally meaningful, as it allowed me to explore and practically apply AI technology within an exhibition space.
Thanks to the use of AI-generated images and videos, we were able to reduce the emphasis on spatial design details and still effectively convey the exhibition’s concept and mood to the audience—without requiring a large budget for spatial production.
It was especially rewarding to see many visitors share their reviews on social media and blogs, often featuring the posters, teaser video at the entrance, and clips taken at the photo zone.
Moving forward, I plan to continue practicing and aim to apply these techniques at an even higher level of quality in future exhibitions.
