Summary
While working as an intern with the Hera Makeup Pro Team, I found great appeal in capturing various makeup looks on video and in the process of inspiring consumers’ desire to purchase.
As the retro-inspired Y2K trend faded and the futuristic Y3K aesthetic began to emerge, we developed the “Sso-mat Hera” concept — a reinterpretation of Y3K makeup looks through the lens of Hera.
I produced a brand film that reimagines Hera’s elegance with AI technology and a futuristic sensibility.
Process 1. Product Selection
The first step in the process was selecting the products. We aimed to embrace the Y3K concept while preserving Hera’s distinct identity.
Three products that best represent Hera’s philosophy and brand essence were chosen, and we focused on creating makeup looks that complemented each product.

Process 2. Defining the Workflow
First, we organized the key characteristics of each Hera product and defined the Y3K makeup style by incorporating metallic luster elements such as silver, spangle, and neon colors.
These elements were entered into GPT’s Midjourney Generator to generate prompts, and reference images were added using the “—cref” function to create visuals.
The generated images were then uploaded to Kling AI, where we converted them into videos by entering the model and product movements in concise, single-line instructions.

Process 3. Production Process – Character
We selected one of the images generated by Midjourney and converted it into a video using Kling AI.
During this process, errors often occurred in subtle movements—such as the irregular shaking of the character’s eyes or transitions between images.
The video was repeatedly regenerated until a satisfactory result was achieved, and awkward sections were edited for final use.

Process 3. Workflow – Product
We used Photoshop AI to refine the product images and added motion using Kling AI.
A complementary background was created with Midjourney, and the background and product were composited in After Effects to produce the final output.

By combining each product’s makeup look and product video, we created the “Y3K Sso-mat Hera” brand film, which embodies Hera’s philosophy and identity.
Black Cushion
We chose gold, a color that traditionally symbolizes elegance and luxury, as the accent tone to visually emphasize the refined value of Hera Black Cushion.
Through metallic brown lips and shimmering gold eye makeup, we combined Hera’s sophistication with a futuristic sensibility to create a polished Y3K-style makeup look.

Holiday Quad Eye Color
To vividly capture the Y3K aesthetic, we used metallic tones focused on silver and blue.
The eyelids were wrapped in shimmering shades of silver and blue eyeshadow, while a defined eyeliner added a futuristic and daring edge.
The look was completed with striking lines and sparkling glitter, creating a bold, futuristic, and artistic makeup style.

Rouge Classy
Hera Rouge Classy Seoul Red highlights the intense color and glossy finish of the shade, creating a chic and daring Y3K-inspired makeup look.
The signature red hue of Rouge Classy exudes a striking presence, emphasizing the innovative and luxurious allure of the Y3K style.
Through this look, we aimed to express the refined beauty that Hera Rouge Classy embodies.

Final Video
We produced the final Y3K Sso-mat Hera brand film by incorporating background music and sound effects that complement the Y3K aesthetic, along with detailed post-production work.
Review
Even with limited knowledge of makeup, I was able to easily create complex makeup looks using generative AI.
Generative AI greatly enhanced my creativity and offered endless inspiration throughout the process of transforming ideas from my mind into tangible results.
In particular, communicating with related departments was often challenging without clear deliverables, but generative AI helped break down those communication barriers,
making collaboration more efficient and intuitive. I’m genuinely excited to see how AI will continue to evolve in the future.
