Summary
While previous studies mainly focused on visual generation using AI tools, this time I wanted to explore the use of sound tools to create audio content in various styles.
The goal was to experience the capabilities and limitations of AI in audio generation and to see how far it could go in terms of implementation.
Background
To learn and explore new AI tools, we needed a fresh theme. I decided to portray the project team members who worked on a pop-up project during the second half of 2024.
Unlike the previous AI Expedition, which focused on brand- and product-based visuals, this study took a more character-driven approach.
Using Midjourney, I created character illustrations and artwork inspired by each team member’s personality, with a clear concept and theme in mind.
the team’s diverse and distinctive traits, I felt they were an ideal subject for experimenting with different visual and musical styles.
Process 1. Chat GPT
We created a total of five songs for this project—ChatGPT wrote the lyrics and interpreted the musical direction, while Suno AI generated the final audio tracks.

Process 3. Cover Visual Creation (Midjourney, Firefly)
While creating songs for the project team members, we simultaneously worked on visual artwork to be used as cover images.
By referencing each member’s distinctive features along with visual elements used in the pop-up project (e.g., yellow balls, rails, blueprints), we aimed to create character-centric artwork in diverse styles.
* Descriptions have been intentionally kept minimal to avoid identifying specific individuals.
Her (GENIUS)
To create a character illustration for a team member who is a fan of League of Legends, I used multiple LoL images as stylistic references in Midjourney.
These references served primarily as visual style guides or were used with the “describe” feature to generate prompt ideas.
I iterated through prompts until the desired character image was achieved and trained the background using visual elements from our pop-up project.
The goal was to portray her as a hero on a journey to discover the meaning of “Mixology” within a fictional universe inspired by the LoL illustration style.
This concept fused game-inspired aesthetics with the narrative of a mystical Mixology world, positioning her as the central protagonist of that story.

The next project piece was inspired by a team member from the interior design team—she has a cute appearance with bright, sparkling eyes,
but her sharp, emotionless demeanor and robot-like precision when drafting blueprints became the true source of inspiration.
To reflect her outer appearance, I referenced a few classic shoujo manga illustrations and crafted prompts like “straight gaze” and “radiant eyes.”
To emphasize her cool, detached aura, I requested the artwork to be done in a blue pencil sketch style.

LIVE (Unscripted life)
For the final project, we set out to capture the bright and cheerful personality of a team member known for her love of plants and her iconic dog-shaped indoor slippers.
The goal was to translate her character into a cohesive creative piece incorporating the song’s title, lyrics, melody, and visuals.
We explored a range of character references and selected a visual style that best suited the intended mood.
To reflect her personality more accurately, we trained the model using images of her typical outfits and crafted prompts for specific hairstyles.
We also trained the model with around 20 images of her dog slippers, but unfortunately, it was unable to generate the distinctive ears, which was a slight disappointment in an otherwise meaningful process.

Review
Through this AI expedition, I realized that mastering generative AI tools plays a major role in the creative process.
It was a fun opportunity to choose an engaging topic outside of work and explore it independently.
I particularly appreciated the ability to experiment with a wide range of styles.
The capability to generate original illustrations—normally a time-intensive task—more quickly and conveniently, as well as to create music without relying heavily on professionals, seems especially promising for future work applications.
Moving forward, I plan to continue studying these tools to produce visuals that match specific stylistic intentions and to refine music generation with greater detail and control.
