The third exhibition of story A, a project gallery that presents refined, theme-based exhibitions every month, was titled
“Bubble Meng: Sensations Amplified Like Bubbles, Moments Carried by Scent.” It ran from August 12 to September 11, 2022.
This immersive space introduced the renewed Happy Bath Original Collection, composed of three experiential zones:
– Bubble Walk, filled with oversized, unpoppable bubbles;
– Scent Sauna, saturated with the iconic scents of the Happy Bath line;
– Scent Atelier (Shop), where visitors could refill and customize their own body wash.
The exhibition sensorially expressed moments of joy and melancholy experienced during everyday showers—an empathetic reinterpretation
of a daily ritual. By capturing these ordinary acts through new perspectives, the exhibition heightened visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile engagement.
Concept
“Sensations amplified like bubbles, moments carried by scent.”
Amid the countless sensations we encounter each day—some deeply felt, some brushed past, and others unnoticed—this exhibition turns attention to the most mundane of moments.
It invites visitors to rethink their daily shower routine—turning on the water, lathering up, washing the body—not as mundane, but
as rich, multi-sensory experiences. These everyday acts are reinterpreted through immersive staging to maximize their emotional and
physical resonance through sight, sound, scent, and touch.
The exhibition conveys a message of rediscovery: that subtle joys are often found in the overlooked moments of daily life. Inspired
by the enchanting visuals of bubbles turning white upon contact with water and the nostalgic fragrances of Happy Bath, the three spaces
offer a transformative journey that awakens the senses and expands inner sensitivity.
Façade
Using 3D lenticular material, the flat visuals take on a three-dimensional bubble effect. As
viewers shift their angle, repeating images emerge and disappear, creating the illusion that letters are submerged in bubbles.
01. Bubble Walk
An extraordinary experience of walking through giant bubbles
At the center of the dimly lit exhibition hall stands a white, bubble-like island. These curious bubbles,
though seemingly weightless, are firmly clustered and resistant to bursting. Visitors are invited to
touch them, or even try to blow them away, for a surreal, tactile encounter.
Visitors can enter a state of “bubble trance” as they gaze blankly at bubbles swaying in the breeze and sparkling under the light,
or simply indulge in playful bubble fun. At set times, a waterfall of bubbles cascades from the ceiling, filling the entire Bubble Walk and elevating the joyful atmosphere.
Next to the bubble island, there’s a space where guests can freely blow and play with soap bubbles. The bubble play evokes the familiar
happiness of childhood, but its grand scale brings a refreshingly new kind of joy.
02. Bubble OSV
A Curiously Pleasurable Experience
‘Bubble OSV (Oddly Satisfying Video)’
In a quiet corner of the exhibition hall lies the Bubble OSV / ASMR zone, a sensory space where visitors can deeply engage with the visuals and sounds
of bubbles and fragrance. Here, soothing videos showcase elements like water and scent—things we often encounter during a shower—accompanied by the
soft pop of bursting bubbles and mesmerizing bubble formations. These oddly satisfying moments, captured through OSV and ASMR, create a strangely
pleasant sensation. As you watch bubbles form and fade away, you may find yourself oddly at ease, quietly immersed in the moment.
03. Scent Sauna
Into the Mist of Fragrance — “Scent Sauna”
Hidden behind a curtain in the Bubble Walk is a space for a unique fragrance experience. Filled with dim lights and thick mist,
the Scent Sauna minimizes visual distractions so you can focus entirely on your sense of smell. Within this slow-moving, serene
space, visitors are invited to fully immerse themselves in the signature scents of the Happy Bath Original Collection—a moment
of happiness led by fragrance alone.
04. Scent Atelier
Happy Bath’s Mini Flagship — A Playground of Fragrance
In the Scent Atelier, visitors are introduced to Happy Bath’s scent numbering system and the stories behind each fragrance.
Custom scent-testing tools made from glass artworks by artist Yang Yu-wan, who uses a bubble-blowing technique reminiscent
of soap bubbles, provide a new, artistic way to explore scents.
This space allows guests to personally experience the transformation of the renewed Happy Bath Original Collection—as if discovering fragrance all over again.
We’ve also prepared exclusive products available only in this space. Visitors can choose their favorite scent, fill a small refillable container,
and personalize the Happy Bath label with their own words or drawings—creating a truly one-of-a-kind Happy Bath just for you.
Outro
D+10 ‘Exhibition Sold Out!’
This project began with the goal of letting people experience the renewed Happy Bath in a completely new way.
By adopting the format of an exhibition, we aimed to convey Happy Bath’s unique emotion of happiness.
Despite seemingly impossible timelines and unprecedented heavy rains, we were able to open the exhibition—and to our great gratitude,
it exceeded expectations from the start, with every session sold out and over 7,000 visitors over the course of a month.
From children to adults, families to couples, visitors from all walks of life enjoyed Happy Bath’s bubbles and scents in their own ways.
In their joy, we discovered the true meaning of a “happy moment.”
We close this short reflection with the hope that the happiness shared by everyone at the Bubble Dream Exhibition will last—like a bubble that never bursts.
