PUZZLE WOOD is a brand born from a signature scent blended for the Amore Seongsu Garden, a place that features a forest-like garden.
Initially developed to perfume the air at the Amore Seongsu location, the PUZZLE WOOD aroma caught the keen attention of store visitors.
In response to customers’ demand for the PUZZLE WOOD product launch, we pilot-launched the diffuser and incense stick products in March 2022.
Manufactured in limited quantity, the products sold out in just one month, marking PUZZLE WOOD’s strong potential.
After some design and product renewal efforts, we finally launched the official PUZZLE WOOD Diffuser and Hand Cream in November 2022.
Product Development
For the official launch of PUZZLE WOOD products, we tried to select items that can best promote the fragrance,
provide a relaxing moment in everyday life, and are good both as a gift and for personal use. As a result,
we decided to launch a diffuser and a hand cream. The diffuser has an artistic object-like elegant design and rich fragrance.
Both the diffuser and hand cream are enriched with plant-derived ingredients. The diffuser contains non-irritating,
eco-friendly solvents including plant-derived ethanol, and the hand cream has obtained the French EVE VEGAN label—one of
the strictest vegan certifications in the world. Notably, the hand cream is infused with long-lasting, high-concentration fragrance,
and comes in a non-sticky formula with safe and mild ingredients excluding gluten and mineral oil. Admittedly,
it was not easy to develop a product that features multiple benefits at the same time—long-lasting, rich fragrance,
an effortlessly-blending formula, non-sticky finish, safe ingredients excluding any animal-derived ingredients,
and strong moisturization. Yet the positive feedbacks on the fragrance and texture given by our customers after
product release have made us proud of our long and strenuous R&D efforts.
Package Design
In developing the container and packaging design of PUZZLE WOOD products, we focused on keeping the tone and manner
consistent with the previously released limited-offer products and effectively delivering the mood of the PUZZLE WOOD fragrance.
As for the hand cream, in order to express the light and refreshing scent of PUZZLE WOOD, we used a light-ivory body color
and boldly featured the stylish PUZZLE WOOD font. We employed a packaging style in which the user slides the box to open it
in order to present the PUZZLE WOOD Hand Cream in a stylish way, and used carbon papers unto which the cap is placed to complete a classy look.
The non-adhesive bottom structure of the paper box and the packaging produced without a coating process demonstrate PUZZLE WOOD’s philosophy of pursuing eco-friendly and vegan materials.
In designing the diffuser and sticks, we strived to ensure that PUZZLE WOOD’s design and product quality are not compromised through mass production.
To maintain the stylish look of PUZZLE WOOD, we tried to put Korean text at the back of the container as much as possible. Furthermore,
the upper part of the paper box features a small, embossed tree logo that signifies PUZZLE WOOD—an easter egg-like element that provides a fun experience to users.
