A single device and four refills go beyond being mere components, connecting as one process that unfolds in rhythm with time.
Through the actions of twisting, lifting, and replacing, users naturally move on to the next step, experiencing the changes in skincare as a calm ritual.
Desgin Story
This project began with the idea of allowing four formulas with different benefits to be experienced not as separate products, but as one integrated program.
The transparent refill structure reveals the character of each formula directly, while the finely refined metal pump and delicate engraved details visually convey the precision and quality of the product.
Through a 90-degree twisting motion, the concealed pump rises smoothly, and with another turn, it seals firmly shut again—a structure designed with both hygiene and ease of use in mind.
Each refill and the device share the same materiality, proportions, and details, all connected through one consistent design language.
The form of the design goes beyond a simple exterior, drawing from the craft-based sculptural sensibility that Sulwhasoo has carried through for a long time.
The soft curves of the base are inspired by the poised silhouette of white porcelain, bringing a warm balance to the solidity of the metal material.
The central rotating axis goes beyond a purely functional mechanism, naturally carrying forward the central line of the moon jar half-joined form—one of the sculptural identities that runs through the entire The Ultimate S line—binding the overall structure into one and creating a calm, stable impression.
The side window allows users to identify both the type of formula and the remaining amount at a glance, improving ease of use and management, while the slim pump-neck structure helps reduce dripping for a more refined and orderly user experience.
Even a single small engraved dot serves as an intuitive guide, helping the user understand direction without the need for additional explanation.
The step markings engraved on each refill, the carefully slimmed proportions of the pump, and even the small engraved dot on the top that indicates the dispensing point—every element functions as a practical device while also forming part of a refined sculptural whole.
