SUHF is a public benefit foundation established to promote the advancement of basic science.
Its mission is to support public-interest research—especially in the life sciences—that has
the potential to change the world and improve the quality of human life. In particular,
SUHF is dedicated to identifying and nurturing creative young scientists, providing
them with long-term support to produce world-class research outcomes.
With this vision in mind, we reinterpreted and expanded the foundation’s
existing logo to develop graphic motifs and various branded materials.
“Supporting innovative discoveries by life science
researchers and contributing to humanity.”
The SUHF vision was incorporated into the existing logo by interpreting the circular dot as a symbol of
both life science and humanity—conveying the idea that SUHF serves as a bridge between the two. This
graphic motif was featured in the poster for the 2020 SUHF Symposium.
To visually reflect the research topics and scientists featured at the symposium, we designed
a graphic motif of interconnected dots, representing how ideas and individuals come together
to form one shared world.
Scientists selected by SUHF receive a welcome gift, along with a plaque for display in their
laboratories and a badge to wear during the symposium—fostering a sense of belonging to the SUHF community.
For laboratories where wall mounting may not be possible, we also designed plaques that can be placed on tables for flexibility in display.
