IOPE is a brand that has skin know-how with its Polution Shield technology that can protect the skin from harmful environmental factors such as UV rays and fine dust. Therefore, unlike other makeup brands that emphasize only color, IOPE’s makeup line is differentiated by emphasizing functional aspects.
Concept
The Perfect Cover Line features a newly developed graphic pattern on its makeup packaging to visually convey its Pollution Shield technology. This pattern highlights the line’s ability to block fine dust particles, protecting the customer’s skin.
Additionally, in the makeup market, consumers place great importance on accurately recognizing a product’s texture, color, and name during the selection process. Based on this insight, IOPE designed packaging that enables consumers to intuitively identify a product’s characteristics. For face makeup products, the color of the contents is revealed through the cap or container, allowing customers to make their selections easily. This way, consumers can choose the shade and texture best suited to their skin type directly through the package design, without the need for testing.
In particular, the foundation — the flagship product of the Perfect Cover line — adopts an inverted tube design instead of a pump type, better reflecting IOPE’s functional expertise. The cap features a functional form reminiscent of a tablet pen docking into its stand, while the tube bears only a simple logo to convey IOPE’s technological identity. The bottom of the cap exposes the product’s color, creating the impression that IOPE’s expertise is infused into the tube.
For the new makeup line, the existing gold or silver finishes have been replaced with a more functional-feeling navy color. IOPE’s newly refined navy tone symbolizes the brand’s trustworthy image, while a sensual matte finish prevents the products from appearing overly masculine or heavy, making the brand’s image more relatable to customers. As a result, the IOPE makeup line not only meets functional demands but also resonates emotionally with consumers.
