red hue expresses the essence of the fermentation process.
The graphic layout dynamically arranges scattered red yeast and the gradual deepening of the rice’s color across two stages, sensually capturing the fermentation process. Harmonized with an off-white background, the design preserves the beauty of negative space while allowing the red hue—symbolic of red rice—to stand out. The benefits of red rice extract are conveyed through poetic phrases that guide the eye naturally, embodying Hanyul’s distinctive natural elegance and calm sensibility.

In collaboration with Boksunda, a traditional Korean liquor maker that uses rice as its main ingredient, Hanyul offers makgeolli powder, allowing customers to experience the fermentation process firsthand and feel the benefits of fermentation through all five senses. Through this collaboration, Hanyul and Boksunda have reinforced the meaning of fermentation by showcasing the fruits of their labor, which require time and dedication.
Hanyul is a brand that utilizes ingredients grown in Korea’s natural environment and reinterprets the benefits of traditional Korean wisdom through modern technological research, bringing these benefits into everyday life. The goal of the project was to delicately convey the brand’s core value of beneficial processing methods. Through package design and video, the meticulous process of fermenting organic brown rice grown in Yeoju, Korea, into red rice is visualized and presented in a sensory manner, allowing viewers to experience the brand’s true value.
The story of the red rice fermentation process is expressed through the changes and flow of time and space in the video. The background music, which reinterprets tradition in a modern way, along with the vivid sound effects of natural ingredients in the space, adds to the Korean brand mood and sensual visual beauty.
