The 1973 Ryo Heritage Line is a new premium hair care collection from Ryo, a Korean herbal hair care brand. This project visualizes the next generation of modern, science-based oriental medicine by breaking away from traditional expressions of herbal remedies.
Concept
We aimed to enhance the brand’s value by replacing the previous Chinese-character logo with a new emblem that reflects the technological expertise of Amorepacific’s Scalp Bio Lab, which has been researching scalp health since 1973—a legacy spanning 47 years. The container design is inspired by laboratory instruments and traditional apothecary jars, while the color palette draws from tones commonly found in medicinal bottles. The label color was intentionally chosen to create bold contrast, adding a trendy and dynamic touch. This unexpected design direction is intended to bring a fresh, modern energy to the brand, appealing to a wider audience across different age groups.
