The premier hair care line, Mise-en-Scène Professional, is divided into six categories—Perfect Repair, Damage Care, Anti-aging, Shining, Scalp, and Cooling Care—based on different hair concerns. With this Design AD (Advance), Mise-en-Scène’s customized strategy for each hair concern has become much clearer by applying three design elements (color, typography, and symbols) that correspond to the product functions.
Concept
Color is an important factor that evokes sensory experiences and even influences our emotions. The Mise-en-Scène Professional Line retains the brand’s previous colorful sensibility while reorganizing six colors—one for each line—that best represent the product functions. In addition to color, the names of the six lines, including Damage Care, are prominently displayed on the front of the products in large typography to clearly distinguish each function and help customers easily select the product they need.
Also, six geometric symbols are used for each line to represent its function. A circle, symbolizing ‘infinity, perfection, eternity, and recovery,’ is used for the Damage Care and Perfect Repair lines. The Anti-aging line uses a triangle representing ‘balance and uplift;’ the Shining Care line uses a hexagon symbolizing ‘purification, preservation, and maintenance;’ the Scalp Care line, emphasizing hypoallergenic properties, uses a square representing ‘trust and honesty;’ and the Cooling Care line uses a star symbolizing ‘unknown energy and positive vibes,’ embodying coolness and uplifting emotions.
