Based on Hanyul’s heritage of mugwort research that began in 1989, this collection represents a modern continuation of the brand’s philosophy.
The design reinterprets the original Lido Mugwort Soap, first released in 1990, with a retro mood for the 2021 version.
Concept
To harmoniously blend two key elements—the story of “mugwort grown and nurtured by the sea breeze of Ganghwa Island” and the heritage of the Lido Mugwort Soap—we collaborated with artist Jo In-hyuk. The packaging exterior features a simple symbolic graphic, while the interior reveals illustrations that evoke the beauty of nature, aiming to express the brand’s identity rooted in Korean naturalism. The 1989 Edition includes a limited-edition package featuring the mugwort soap along with Hanyul’s signature products: the Pure Artemisia Moisturizing Soothing Cream and the Ampoule Serum.
