Hanyul, a Korean natural brand using locally grown ingredients, has launched a campaign that benefits both the skin and the environment. The Sun Yuza Sleep Pack enhances skin health by using only the thick peels of Goheung Yuza, freshly harvested in November, cold-pressed into pure Yuza peel oil with no additives. The fermentation process is reimagined as a fairy tale scene—a Yuza shooting star falling at night in Goheung to create the oil—captured through delicate illustrations and poetic text.
Story _ Dreaming Yuja
How can we convey the fermentation process of Hanyul Dalbit Yuja in a way that feels sincere and captivating?
Rather than depicting it literally, we aimed to reinterpret it as a fairy tale scene with a narrative, collaborating with artist Yoon Yeoji to envision the story.
In November, Goheung’s sea breeze and warm sunlight nurture the ripe, juicy Yuza, while forest friends—an owl, a deer, and a rabbit—await the harvest.
The sparkling lights drifting through Goheung’s indigo night sky and deep sea represent the 10-day wait as the sun-ripened Yuza matures.
We carefully unraveled each layer of waiting and devotion, capturing those starlit moments with care.
By minimizing post-processing on the outer packaging, we captured the freshness of sun-dried November Yuza.
Eliminating the instruction manual reduced paper usage, while the package structure—designed to unfold with the cover—maximizes content with minimal materials.
The exterior features a simple, thumbnail-focused design to spark curiosity and draw attention to the internal illustrations, which are the highlight of this limited edition. Upon opening, a vibrant contrast of clear blue and fresh yellow is revealed, along with dynamic Yuza shooting stars falling from the night sky and forest animals watching in quiet wonder—brought to life with delicate, intricate details.
The transformation of Hwaryuza into a product is depicted through stop-motion animation, capturing the passage of time and the transition of space.
The opening sequence begins with Yuza appearing against a realistic backdrop of natural light and concrete textures, then shifts to fairy-tale illustrations of Goheung’s night sky and forest—creating a mystical visual aesthetic.
