Summary
The Creative Partners (CP) project, which began in May 2022.
Under the theme ‘Graphic Seed Development for Paper Goods Production,’ this year-long project involved three review sessions and a final collaboration with the Amore Mall team, culminating in the final products in May 2023.
The project’s purpose was to revisit and further develop graphic assets from past projects that had been underutilized. We aimed to adapt them for the ‘paper goods’ category, seeing it as a low-cost, high-impact way to make our designs more accessible to a broad public.
After a year of refinement, these graphic assets were applied to the VIP gift box for the highest ‘E-Tier’ members of the newly revamped Amore Mall membership program, which became available in May 2023.
1st Review Session
We shared our initial design direction and its potential scope.
– Design Direction: To create geometric shapes and use various color combinations to convey a playful mood.
– Application: We listed a range of potential paper goods, including wrapping paper, postcards, stickers, masking tape, and shopping bags.
1.5 Individual Meeting
Following the first review, we narrowed down the scope of practical applications and shared our initial design drafts.
Feedback
The feedback was to explore a wider variety of phrases for the ‘LOVE’ and ‘THANK YOU’ messages, creating about five design variations for each.
We were also asked to add a series of designs that featured only images, without text.
2nd Review Session
We shared 15 new design concepts that incorporated the feedback from our individual meeting.
This included five unique designs each for the ‘LOVE’ and ‘THANK YOU’ message cards, ranging from direct and simple to witty and unconventional phrases.
We also presented five additional ‘image-only’ cards for versatile use.
Amore Mall VIP Gift Box Design Request
The Amore Mall team, who had observed our individual meeting, subsequently requested a design for
the new VIP gift box that would be provided to members as part of their membership program revamp in May.
We selected three of our presented concepts and discussed the specific design direction, composition, and messaging with them.
Request Details
– The design should clearly indicate that it is a gift for the highest ‘E-tier’ members.
– The gift set should consist of an outer box and a thank-you card, with different designs for each.
– The colors should evoke a sense of the season, as the revamp was scheduled for May, the beginning of spring/summer.
Based on these requests, we developed three design proposals.
Originally, the plan was to produce only one of the three designs. However, Amore Mall gave final
feedback that they would like to produce two of them. They also requested a final revision:
the color symbolizing the E-tier was dark navy, and this needed to be reflected on the black-colored box design.
After this change, we proceeded with production.
Final Product
This is the VIP gift box for the highest ‘E-tier’ members of the newly revamped Amore Mall membership program, launched in May 2023.
It was produced in two different designs, each containing a thank-you card and five product samples.
In Conclusion
I am so happy that this project, which I personally poured the most affection into,
was given this opportunity to be reborn. It’s even more meaningful that it was applied
to a gift box given to so many people. With the start of May,
the best season of the year, I completed this work with love (AMORE).
