지류 굿즈 제작을 위한 graphic seed 개발 (feat.AMOREMALL)

I applied for the Center’s internal initiative, ‘Graphic Seed Development for Paper Goods Production,’ and began by thinking about the paper
goods I personally buy most often. Since I frequently purchase cards and shopping bags for birthdays and other celebrations, I chose the
sub-theme, ‘Creating paper goods that increase consumer touchpoints by fully embodying a designer’s sensibility.’
The selected items were cards, stickers, shopping bags, and wrapping paper.
For the graphic theme, I decided on simple, bright, and cheerful illustrations that retained the charming imperfection
of hand-drawn art, using motifs like love, luck, plants, people, and simple phrases. I scanned my hand-drawn sketches
and digitized them, creating matching card and envelope sets with simple messages. Additionally, I proposed complementary
items that could be purchased as a set, such as paper charms for shopping bags, masking tape, and wrapping paper.
This design was proposed to Amore Mall, which was already collaborating with illustrators on seasonal paper charms. About a month later,
they expressed interest in using my design for the year-end season in December 2022. However, I felt that the developed illustrations
didn’t truly fit the winter theme, which was a personal disappointment. Ultimately, I created a completely new set of vibrant, colorful
illustrations that were perfectly suited for the winter season and designed to maximize the potential of 4-color printing. My original
design, however, was requested again for use in March 2023 and was finally produced as a paper charm, as shown below.
WINTER SEASON
For the new illustration project that began in November, my inspiration was the year-end holiday season,
so my thoughts turned to items like sweaters, snowmen, scarves, and gloves. I designed the specifications
to fit the three different shopping bag sizes offered by Amore Mall and designed the back so it could be used as a message card.
From the initial concepts, the scarf, sweater, and shopping bag designs were chosen as the final three,
and we created additional labels with snowman and star motifs. With help from Yunjin of the Strategy Team,
we completed the product photography and created the product detail page, successfully concluding the project.
