Summary
This is a set of goods that fans and artists can communicate with each other with a fandom culture shared with each other.
In charge of the lip balm and hand cream set using SEVENTEEN’s character IP “Bongbong,” a multinational boy group under HYBE,
he developed artist research and dedicated character artwork, and proposed a design strategy with fandom culture.
The concept is based on the Korean pronunciation of “carrot” (CARAT), combined with a rabbit costume that loves carrots, creating “Tongbongi.”
The design highlights carrot-derived elements in an intuitive and kitschy manner.
The artist playfully refers to the fanbase as “Carrots~ I don’t like carrots, but I love CARAT,” and fans use carrot-themed pouches and menus, among other things.
The nickname “Carrot” for the Seventeen fan club has spread as a witty sub-fan culture.
Drawing on this insight, we proposed a playful storytelling concept titled “I AM NOT CARROT,” aiming to create not just simple beauty merchandise but a medium for artists and fans to connect emotionally, while thoughtfully incorporating fan culture.
Original Bongbongi
Character Design
Bongbongi is a mascot character inspired by the official fan stick of Seventeen, the Carat Bong.
Bongbong, which embodies the fandom (Carat) itself, has a cute appearance but is originally a 2D-based character, which posed significant challenges in design application.
Therefore, we decided to give the character a 3D form, add a conceptual carrot outfit, and incorporate a carrot and carrot-shaped object, giving it a lively, jumping pose.
This resulted in the creation of a new, fresh 3D “To Bong-i” character.
With its round shape and signature rose quartz color, it completes a charming look that appeals to the teenage fan base.

Product Design
We combined the 3D Toong-i in dynamic compositions to incorporate the graphic trend of creating a
three-dimensional effect even on a flat surface. To foster a sense of attachment between the artist
and fans while using the products, we intuitively placed a one-point message, the fan club founding
date, and the logo, boldly contrasting the carrot color as an accent to create a kitschy mood.
Visual Concept
Featuring a cute rabbit character and inspired by the product ingredients, the concept is based on Bongbong
visiting a carrot village, creating a charming miniature world. Using baskets and carrot-themed accessories
in the same tone and mood, we styled the products as if they were in a carrot market, emphasizing the vibrant colors.
